OREGON SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES GREAT SOCIETY FOR 2014 SEASON
The Oregon Shakespeare Festival announced today the world premier of Robert Schenkkan’s, THE GREAT SOCIETY, in July, 2014 in the Angus Bowmer Theater to be directed by Bill Rauch and starring Jack Willis as LBJ. Other plays in the season include: The Tempest, The Cocoanuts, The Sign in Sidney Brusteins Window, A Wrinkle In Time, The Comedy of Errors, Water by the Spoonful, Family Album, Richard III, and Two Gentlemen of Verona.
NEW PLAY FESTIVAL AT SEATTLE REPERTORY THEATER
For the first time, ALL THE WAY and THE GREAT SOCIETY were read back to back in public as part of the Seattle Repertory Theater’s New Play Festival.
ALL THE WAY NOMINATED FOR STEINBERG AWARD
The American Theatre Critics Association announced today that Robert Schenkkan’s ALL THE WAY has been nominated for the 2012 ATCA/Steinberg Award along with five other writers. Past winners include August Wilson, Moises Kaufman, Adam Rapp, Nilo Cruz, Lynn Nottage and Horton Foote.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival held a private reading of the first draft of THE GREAT SOCIETY.
SCHENKKAN GOES TO MACDOWELL COLONY
Robert Schenkkan will be in residence at the famed MacDowell Colony in New Hampshire from October 3 through October 31, working on THE GREAT SOCIETY, the sequel to ALL THE WAY.
SCHENKKAN HIRED TO ADAPT THE DEMONOLIGIST
Robert Schenkkan has been hired by Bob Zemeckis’ Film Company ImageMovers and Universal Pictures to Andrew Pyper’s unpublished novel, THE DEMONOLOGIST, as a feature film.

ALL THE WAY will run at Oregon Shakespeare Festival from July 25th-November 3 , in the Angus Bowmer Theater, directed by OSF Artistic Director, Bill Rauch.
1963. An assassin’s bullet catapults Lyndon Baines Johnson into the presidency. A Shakespearean figure of towering ambition and appetite, the charismatic, conflicted Texan hurls himself into Civil Rights legislation., throwing the country into turmoil. Alternately bullying and beguiling, he enacts major social programs, faces down opponents, and wins the 1964 election in a landslide. But in faraway Vietnam, a troublesome conflict looms.
