Robert Schenkkan has been selected as this year’s THORNTON WILDER FELLOW at the MacDowell Colony. Mr. Wilder who wrote much of OUR TOWN at the Colony and won three Pulitzer Prizes for his work, spent many residencies at MacDowell. In 1960, at the first Medal Day celebration, he became the inaugural recipient of the Edward MacDowell Medal in the Arts. His family and MacDowell’s board of directors established this Fellowship in recognition of Mr. Wilder’s generous legacy to the Colony.
